This morning I woke up around 5 a.m., rolled out of bed and headed to the toilet. I took a good long pee, then headed back to my bed. I jumped in from the side closest to the bathroom and bumped against a body!
What the fuck!? Why is there a corpse in my bed?!
Well, the corpse moved, so it wasn’t dead. My addled brain flashed on the idea that it was my favorite go go dancer — no one else has been in my bed for nearly 8 months — but then I remembered that she’s in Europe. I peered closely at the face of the girl and then remembered.
I brought a girl home on Friday night… the first time since my favorite go go dancer left around Christmastime. This was her. I had to think for a moment to figure out where she had come from.

Back in July I wrote. She’s an interesting girl insofar as she is a prototype for an entire class of Thai women that exist here in Bangkok. They are NOT Pay-4-Play girls, yet they are intensely interested in Westerners. They usually have no interest at all in gettting involved with Thai men, and emphatically won’t have a Thai boyfriend in the background.
These girls usually spend a fair amount of time polishing their English skills, and then go where the farang are, which often means being in farang-oriented bars, either as an employee or as a customer. In my experience they often grab onto a Western boyfriend and move in with him, at least for a while. They will, if given the opportunity, travel overseas.
The idea of the ‘tweener is that she is caught somewhere in the middle between the world of P4P hookers and Thai “good” girls. She is probably much more active sexally, and often reliant on money that she gets from her boyfriend, or a series of men, but doesn’t believe that she is selling sex for a living.

I was a dickhead today and I got my way. This is very unusual in Thailand.
Back in the US, it frequently paid off to act like a dickhead in certain situations, but here in the Land of Smiles it usually gets you nothing but an uneasy smile, a shaky apology and a shrug of the shoulders.
Here’s what happened.

With the exception of my first couple of months in Bangkok, and one brief 2-week period last year when I had a minor hiccup, I have always had a non-immigrant B visa while living in Thailand. Unlike many people who have to leave the country every 90 days, I have always been lucky enough to have a 12-month visa that can be renewed annually without the need to leave the country.
The only administrative requirement aside from the annual renewal of my visa and work permit is to report to immigration every 90 days to tell them I’m still in the country. It is a simple administrative procedure that takes less than 15 minutes in and out of the front door. I’ve taken care of it several times myself, but it is actually a function that can be taken care of by an agent without the need for me to go to immigration for the 90 report.

About thee weeks ago I wrote a blog about member clubs, and included a low quality photo of one of the Coyote dancers whom I identified as Nat of the Sky Club.
I returned to Sky with some friends on Friday night and saw Nat again, but it seems I may have gotten her name wrong. The music was loud, but I think she said that her name is Nan, not Nat.
Whatever her name is, I thought you might enjoy a better photo of this lovely coyote dancer from Sky Club:
