I haven’t spent much time in the go go bars in 2009, but tonight I went to Soi Cowboy with a mate of mine who has been in Bangkok for a week or so and is about to head home. I need to be awake at 5:30 in the morning on Thursday to go to work, so we agreed that the visit would be for just a short time. In the end we visited two go go bars, and I drank one beer and one bottle of water before coming back home at ten-thirty.
The first stop was the newly re-opened Rawhide. Following the New Year’s Day fire it was closed for several weeks. I was expecting a total remodel of the bar.
Hardly.
There’s some new upholstery, and a few other minor cosmetic changes, but if you don’t look closely it’s pretty difficult to tell the new Rawhide from the old Rawhide.
The crew of girls looked pretty much the same as well. I saw Na, the first girl I ever barfined from Rawhide, who — three years later — has the same beautiful smile, great attitude, voluptuous body and lovely skin that first attracted me.
Also present was the girl I often think is the sexiest go go dancer in Bangkok — Kung. I bought her a drink, put my hand on her thigh for a few minutes and, since she was sitting at my table topless, used both hands to check whether her left and right breast were the same size. The initial test was inconclusive so I checked several times. I believe I’ll have to check again next time in.
Once again I DIDN’T barfine Kung. I believe that’s more than two years now that I’ve been admiring her perfect body, buying her drinks and going home alone. Why spoil a perfect record?
Every girl onstage at Rawhide was either topless or naked while we where there. A lot of them were jumbo-sized girls who should have kept their clothes on.
My mate and I decided to make one more stop, and agreed on Midnite Bar. I seem to be the only commenter on the internet that likes this go go, but I have a good time every time I go there.
Somehow, over the past four years they’ve managed to keep the place stocked with young and slender 40 kilo girls with perfect little titties with brown pointed nipples… just the way I like them. Every dancer on stage at Midnite was topless, and they had just a gauzy little skirt with no panties, so there was nothing left to the imagination.
Wonderful.
Tonight there were half a dozen to a dozen tiny spinners with pleasant faces. My buddy bought a drink for #3, Noi, who turned out to be a 20 year old, 40 kilo girl with a bright attitude. She was tiny but curvy.
I had my eye on #14, who turned out to be a 38 kilos girl who claimed to be 18 years old. She had a pretty face but lacked the enthusiasm of Noi. I went home without investing in her.
All in all a pleasant two hours on Soi Cowboy. I love Kung, and Na always makes me smile. Midnite was chock full of naked spinner eye-candy, and we got nothing but smiles, attention and good attitudes from everyone.
So, it was a short time, but a good time on Soi Cowboy tonight.

So far we have six entries for the Most Useless Fucking Comment of the Year award. Amazingly, all six are all from jonbanger, who still has never offered a single useful thought to this site.

The quality of girls and layout of Midnite are both top notch. What I absolutely hate about the place is how the mamasans and, to a lesser degree, the less attractive girls can be so damn pushy (perhaps a policy of the owner, as this seems to be true in most of his bars). As soon as you sit down you’re accosted by at least two girls with mamasan in tow wondering how many tequila shots you’ll be ordering for all and sundry. Probably not a big deal for a first timer to the bars, but for me at least it’s a real turnoff. Shark, on the other hand . . .

mr. wolf, you have my sincerest apologies. i did not realise this blog is somehow my responsibility and thus requires me to offer “a single useful thought.” if it is now, as you seem to feel, up to me to create your content, then let me know and i’ll be happy to provide an interesting post. on the other hand, if it simply makes you feel good to attack one of the readers you somehow manage to have who was pointing out that you wrote a boring post…then so be it, i hope you feel better

wolf and gs – I’m with you, Midnite never fails to deliver quality girls. I too like the dark skin, plenty of opportunities to see that skin, a nice smile, and a good time. Personally, I’ve never been set up by the mamasan or a pack of girls while there. I’ve always been able to make eye contact and chat with those I want to. However, the “I go dance now” bit does wear thin soon and often prompts and execuctive decisions regarding companionship for the evening. That said, the girls are great when you take them out–they let you call the shots and if you’re willing to let them make some choices they can take you to some great nightspots that, at least for a guy not living in BKK but who visits often enough to get bored of the usual routine, I might not otherwise find. Also, every girl I’ve taken from Midnite has proved to be topshelf in the bedroom and a sweetheart the next morning. What’s not to like?
jb-what’s your deal?

johbanger:
“Sincerest apologies”? I think not.
You are clearly NOT responsible for the content of the blog or else it wouldn’t exist. If you find it necessary to take up space and time with comments on this blog, I prefer that they say something useful.
If you want to write blogs, then start your own site, your submissions are not welcome here, although you seem to have a talent for saying nothing at all, which, in itself may be a gift I suppose.
You are a reader, it is true, and no matter how many times you say that you don’t like the blog you keep coming back and writing inane comments.
That’s one of the problems with the internet; you can’t choose your readers. In case you’re worried that I’ll miss you if you stop reading, the answer is, “I won’t”.

Saying that WW attacked you – that’s a laugh. You are definitely MUFCY worthy.

JC,
Oh, I think WW attacked him. It’s just that some people need to be attacked.
I’ve been reading DubyahDubyah’s blogs for about a year and a half now. and if there is ONE THING that he has made absolutely clear, it is that he blogs for himself. He’s not standing in the wings, anxiously awaiting the applause. He welcomes discourse in his comments, but one obnoxious ersatz onomatopoeia hardly constitutes that.
JB,
I don’t usually comment, as I have never been to Thailand, and may never get there. I don’t usually have anything of value to add. If there is a particular post that bores me to tears (Thai internal politics) I don’t comment, I simply don’t read it. As a result, I don’t get my ass handed to me in a public and humiliating fashion. Try it, JB. I think you’ll like it.
WW, sorry to hear about your accident, and I’m glad you’re on the mend. I’ve dumped a bike twice, and it was no joke either time.

Saigon Kid :
ON “I go dancing now”.
This doesn’t bother me. If I don’t want a girl to dance, I have to pay her barfine. I accept that.
The price of a drink buys me her company for perhaps 20 minutes or so when she’s NOT dancing. Want to keep her company? Pay bar or keep buying drinks. That’s okay with me.
What isn’t okay is if I buy a drink, she takes a sip, goes dancing, then doesn’t come back when her dance set is over.
Different bars have different methods of putting the girls on stage for sets. One thing I like about Midnite is that the girls rotate on and off the stage one at a time. Which means your girl ‘goes dancing’ for about 8 songs (maybe half an hour) but when she rotates off, she’s off for 45 minutes or so… plenty of time to enjoy her company. Personally I prefer that format to ten minutes on, 15 minutes off stage that has them constantly coming and going.
BTW, I bought a drink for Kung at Rawhide last night. She had a sip then had to “go dancing”. We sat through her entire set, and then she went to shower and change. We paid our bill. Perhaps 35 minutes passed — the ice melted in her glass.
But she came back. She sat between me and my mate and cuddled and chatted for twenty minutes or so. That’s proper behaviour from a go go dancer, I think.
GS: I’ve never been ambushed by the mamasan (well, not lately anyway) or the girls, though I agree that the girls here are on the ‘pushy’ side for drinks… often signalling for a drink before even being invited to the table or asking your name. I find a couple of shakes of the head, like a baseball pitcher shaking off the signal from his catcher, usually stops that immediately. I take my time, choose a girl and buy a drink if I want to.
Back in the days when THailand was my holiday town I often had the mamasan, three go go dancers and a couple of servers drinking in the booth with me at Midnite. But I was happy and having fun so no complaints. These days I’m too tight fisted for that.
However, I still get in a similar situation sometimes… especially at Rawhide where I sometimes find myself under a pile of go go dancers… one on each leg and one under each arm (total… 4 go go dancers) drinking on my tab. Not because they’re pushy, but because I enjoy being in the middle of the half naked scrum.

As always, well put WW. Love the blog and hope you the recovery is speedy. I got yanked off my motorbike by a couple of thieves, while I was driving to work no less, here in Saigon about a year ago, so I sympathize. We should compare notes next time I’m in BKK.
